Default Those of you ordering the 6LE 200 speedo guage face, come in!!!!!

So there have been a few orders placed for 6LE's fbody group purchase, in 200 mph faces. Those of you ordering these faces, what do you do to your gauges to get them to read accurately? Do you have Granetelli already? Are you having them re calibrated? Are you using ZO6 solenoid's? Please guys lets get this down to an exact science. If you ordered one, or know someone who has ordered one, and they are intended to be used with the stock fbody gauge cluster, please tell us what and how you are modifying to get them to work. I think if this information was available a lot more people could be ordering exactly what they want! And we don't know how long this opportunity will be around to fully customize our gauges so please help us out! If you don't want it known, then tell us what to do until the GP is over and then I'll delete this thread! I asked ^Le already so please don't suggest it, he doesn't know what to do and respectfully won't divulge customer info!

no actually im pretty sure thats the only way you can do it, its all in the computer so reflashing it and then calibrating it like said above for that speed.

I have hp tuners so if you can do it that way i could do it myself, but didn't granatelli do it without editing your computer? they just changed something in your cluster? I believe..

as far as i know the calibration comes from the speedo to the computer so you probably have to get the speedo itself re calibrated.

I am pretty sure it would have to be done in the ECM of the car to change the speedo. Besides having my ECM calibrated for my gears on dyno tune, My aeroforce gauge reads the MPH direct from the ECM. I am off about 5 MPH at 45mph when comparing my aeroforce to my needle. I know the aeroforce is accurate and the needle tack is off. So the speedo gets the info from the ECM.

Guys, think about it for a minute. How was the aftermarket company correcting the speedos if you have to do it thru your PCM?? Thats doesn't make any sense at all.

Yes, you can alter the PCM for gear swaps but to extend the MPH it will read & make sure the needle is in the correct position at speeds it has to be altered in the speedo cluster itself. Otherwise everyone who had a company fix there speedo would still be off when it was reinstalled b/c their cars PCM wasn't altered.

You can't compare a PCM edit for gear change to a altered cluter to read up to 200MPH accurately. Those are different changes all together. Gear changes affect how fast or slow your car accelerates not how high the speedo is capable of reading.

FYI: if you swap out the factory 110 cluster with a factory 150 cluster it reads correctly without messing with the pcm. Something in the cluster would need changing for this to work imo.

I am with "Big Mike"... With companies like Granatelli you simply send in your cluster and they make the changes, you simply re-install guage cluster... I really don't think it is as easy as replacing the face of the cluster and it working... common sense to me...

Let's wait and see... People will post their results..

^exactly....you MIGHT be able to change the gear ratio to get the needle to line up with the correct MPH (ie, you are going 50MPH and the needle points to 50MPH) but remember, 50MPH on the new 200MPH gauge would have been about 40MPH on the old gauge, so even though you are going 50MPH the computer things you car going 40MPH.

To those thinking it is in the ECM, you are absolutely wrong. Quit spreading BS and misinformation. As some have already said, it is in the gauge cluster itself. You can change tire size and differential gear ratio in the ECM, but you can not alter the speedo range (ie: from 120, 150, 200), as the ECM does not control the speedometer, it does calculate the speed of the vehicle for trans functions and CAGS, but it does not send out an MPH signal. So, stop spreading "my buddy's friend's cousin's sister's boyfriend change his with the ECM" bullshit. The gauge cluster receives pulses from the VSS and converts it to a signal the Speedo can use to display a MPH.
