Your best bet is to retrofit a true HID setup from an OEM into the stock Camaro housings.

TSX, RX330, S2K are some good low-beam-only projectors that should fit into the low beam area of the 1998-2002 Camaro. Of that list, TSX is probably the easiest to get and work with.

If you want a bi-xenon projector (high and low beam in one projector), FX & TL are a couple good choices as well. The FX should fit without a problem. The TL is a bit larger so I'm not sure. There are some other good choices as well, but they are larger and may or may not fit. For example, the 430 (or 460, I forget which is one of the two is bi-xenon) is a great bi-xenon projector, but its a bit large and may not fit.

Check out HID Planet's forms for more info on retrofits. I don't think I've seen any 1998-2002 Camaro specific ones though, but the site in general has plenty of info and is a great community.... kinda like this one. I'm on there with the same screen name as are a few other members from here.

Here are some threads/pages to look into:

zfastss's setup using TSX projectors mounted inside the stock housings:

jvrss396's setup with Hella 90mm H9 projectors mounted inside the stock housings:

I have the sonar projectors on my car. They work pretty well. They use an H1 bulb.

Yea, there are plenty of threads on that too. Some are listed in the Lighting FAQ, others can be found through a search. Watch out though. All of those aftermarket Camaor projector housings are halogen and most of them are H3.... which is for fog lights. Also, they don't respond so well to HID. There is a new one that uses a H1 bulb, which has decent output, but a true HID setup will still yield better results.

Here is the Lighting FAQ:

Here is a thread with the newer H1 version:

Alternatively, you could buy one of the aftermarket Camaro projector housings and replace the halogen projector with a HID projector. I think there was a thread a while back where that was discussed, but I don't know what happened to it. If I remember correctly the space inside the aftermarket housings is tight. A HID projector might not fit. Only one way to know though. Someone has to try it.
