Default Got some Projectors for christmas...Pics!

Well, I started a thread earlier this month in order to try and get some feed back on some projectors. I decided to go with the chrome ones. I was overall very satisfied with the piece. The mounting bracket look to be high quality, the lenses are crystal clear, the rear has oem type vent tubes, and they don't look cheap. I am happy so far. Here they are...
Front

Back

Inside projector housing, where you can see the cutoff shield...

And the H1 bulb...

Now I have not had a chance to install these but I did take them out to the garage to get some beam pattern and cufoff pics. They appear to have a GREAT cutoff, very distinct. They seem to have good output and coverage as well. Here are some shots of them hitting the wall from about 4-5 feet away. Then I set the projector housing on top of my stock headlights to show you the output compared to the foglight projectors.
And last I shot the beam towards the opposite wall in the garage about 10-12 feet away...

4ft

Projector headlight top, foglight bottom, 2-3 ft away.

Opposite side of garage 10-12 feet. Sorry they're blurry and the camera was at 4x zoom...

I will keep everyone posted on the install. I may have a chance over the week end. But it is very cold here in Chicago and the streets are covered in salt and slush and ice and snow and all that nasty stuff so the car will not be going out for a couple months. So sorry, I can't get any outside pics yet. However, I may be able to back it out and get some "on the garage door" shots, but my door is black so it might no come out.

If anyone has any questions about these projectors I would be more than happy to try and get the answer. Or if you have a specific pic request of them or a part of them let me know. I am on TECH everyday.

Thanks for looking,

Jimmy

P.S. feel free to offer up comments and/or suggestions.

They look good make sure that you post some pics when you get them installed. I don't think i've seen chrome ones just black ones but then again I don't pay much attention.

They look nice. Those are the new ones with the better bulb. The cut off looks much better than the first ones that came out. Will be looking for more pics from farther away. Preferably about 25 or so feet away to see the actual cut off.

That cut-off doesn't quite look right. Double check to make sure the bulb is seated properly. Also try another bulb just in case. The cut-off should be a smooth even line with no flares. Also, Can you take pics at about 20-25ft?

Got the same type of lights for x-mas as well, but mine are the black ones. They are "sonar" brand projectors and a very high quality. I've got mine installed but not aimed and without the halo's or leds wired as of yet. Thats my project for this afternoon.

Nice. I put one side in just to test fit it and it seems like they fit well. There is a minor gap at the bottom, but I am gonna wait to mess around with shimming them until after I aim them.

On a side note I have 8500k hid's in my car now. I was able to "try out" the 9006 bulb in the projector and the beam pattern and cutoff was not altered at all. Exact same pattern as with the H1 bulbs that came with them.

Pics coming Sunday night of that.

No, the bulb can only sit one way. There are 2 "nubs" on each side that only allow install 1 way.

Are talking about the light about the cutoff when you say flare, or are you talking about the cutoff line not being perfectly straight?

Weather permitting I will try to back the car out and get some 25ft shots of the pattern.

I think I figured out what you are talking about. There appears to be a little extra material left on the cutoff shield. If you look closely at the first pick of the inside of the projector you can see the extra material from where they cut it. I may need to get in there with a file and hit it a little and remove the little edge. Cuz that would make the cutoff not distinctive and give it that little dip that you see on the left of the stepped area.

No, no directions on how to wire.. the low beam comes pre-harnesed ready to plug in and the high beams are reused from the stock lamps. Only wiring is for the LEDs and Halos. I'm not digging the LEDs on with the halos so I'm gonna mod mine a little bit Very easy to wire in tho. I just spliced mine to the fogs. (Hint: purple is +, black is -).
I still need to adjust the aiming but heres what my cut off is looking like after wiring in the halos and slightly adjusting them:

Highbeams and lowbeams (same time)

Keep in mind I have no idea how to properly aim the headlights... I think I need to move them further up and further out to each side.
