Angry Starting Problem

So my 02 Firebird has a random attitude about not starting. I've had the battery checked, starter, fuses, etc. Just changed a coil out, runs GREAT...when she decides to start. About once or twice a week she plain won't start. Thought it was a security issue with the Theftlock thing and the keys. But nope. Could there be something wrong with the ignition besides what I've checked? New to this whole thing. Trying to figure it out. Will be checking my Haynes repair manual too. Thanks guys!

I was thinking ignition switch too. Will probably be going to a local F-Body club dinner tonight. Will ask around and see what they think. Thanks anyways. Anyone else with ideas?

I kinda got the same thing going on too, except mine won't start at all now...ever. But before it got to this point, it was kind of intermittent like yours. Keep me posted on what you find out, and I'll do the same.

I'm going through the same thing but mine doesn't even do anything even if I put the key in the ignition. My headlights work but not my gauges or stereo? I'm going to ask around too? Thanx

Dose your security light go off after a few seconds? If not VATS is your problem, if it dose then cheack starter, wiring at the starter, battary cables if all looks alright more then likely ignition switch.

Default had same problem

i had this problem in a thirdgen. Do you have headers? anyway i had headers on the car and they were pretty close to starter, i guess the heat was messing with the solenoid in starter. i put a mini torque starter on car and knock on wood have never had any problems since. Maybe this'll work, maybe not. just sharing a experience. good luck

I'm having similar problems. At first it was intermittent and now my car won't start at all.

Luckily it's not my daily driver so it's sitting in the garage until I have time to mess with it.

I hope you figure it out.
