Default Intake + TB Swap problems

I recently swapped out the intake and TB on my 99Formula to a Profesional Products 85/85. Now I broke the oil pressure sensor and pvc valve piping in the process but have replaced both. Now the real problem is trying to keep the car on. It fires but turns right off. I messed with the throttle and noticed that the car only wants to stay on at the 75% throttle and does perfect at wot. I spoke to a local tuner who ran me through all the possiblities and decided that it needed to be tuned. Anything we missed?

Did you try adjusting the Throttle blade?? other than that I would agree it needs tuned.

Does your TB have an adjustment screw with a little spring near the cam of the TB? If so you can screw that in and out to make small adjustments to the throttle blade.

Do you have slack in the throttle cable?? You might need to adjust that out as well.

You know I think I do have some slack on the line but would that keep it from idling at all?

you need a tune brother your car from the factory is only tuned for a certain amount of air coming in once you change that it throws your fuel trims off, your computer will compensate for up to 5 percent changes in fuel trim but after that its gonna take a tuner be it a predator or laptop program etc... and is there any chance you could have damaged your MAF in the process? i decided to be an idiot one day in my free time before i knew anything about the fuel system and i ported my MAF, well during this process i somehow bent one of the wires and viola! my car wouldn idle at all with it plugged in and barely did run at all, prolly not your case but always a possibility try running the car on speed density and see what happens

Did all the vacuum lines all over again. did break them but replaced them. The mass air hasnt been touched. diconnected and then set aside during the install. Anyways I should be getting it tuned mon or tues. When hooked up to the laptop, if it is a vacuum, maf, borken sensor, Itll throw a code wont it?

No way the intake will throw tune off to the extent it wont even run. You either have major vacum leak or you need to adjust the throttle blade to be open more if your new setup allows. Also tro a tps reset. Unplug tps>turn switch on and leave on for a a min>turn switch off>reconnect tps.

So tuner came by yesterday. Reset the throttle position sensor, took fuel, air and returned it etc etc.. . . . . . . finally tried a speed density tune. car started up just fine but now it revs up to about 5200 and stays there withouth touching the throttle. no the throttle wasnt stuck. Im lost

Glad you got it fixed, Im sure it runs much better now.

Im surprised your tuner wasnt able to diagnose it as a vacuum leak leak while he was messing with the car. I read one small paragraph and knew right a way

Its not that he couldnt figure it out, we both looked all over the place and were limited to light that night so we couldnt see back under the intake. Im pretty sure he knew it was a vacuum leak just didnt know where. I kind of knew it too but wanted to rule absolutely everything out before I pulled that bitch of an intake!
