Default Kicker cvt65 (having 2nd thoughts)

I've had the cvt65 installed for some time now and just don't really like them unless they are really loud.

Are the stock sail panels more of a mid bass the sub bass compared to the kickers. Also I do have the correct one for my firebird vs the camaro.
Just seems to have lost mid bass.

Any ideas before I sell these and get some stock speakers?

I can get the stock ones for close to $100 shipped (sell the cvt's locally)
Anything else to consider before I go with the stock ones?

I have the cvt65 4ohm version with only one pair of the wires running it (left off the other pair as this is not a dvc)

Did I wire it up right?

The CVT's are great speakers if used right. You can not just bolt them in and roll. When installed correctly even off the factory amp they sound great. These speakers are not for use as free air or infinite baffle. I made fiberglass cups that fit in the hole and added poly fill. They sound awsome off my factory amp.

The kicker SSMB6 is a great choice if you just want to bolt them in and go on the factory amp.

free air applications and factory cutout locations . . .

From the manual:

"Kicker CompVT 65 subwoofers were specially designed for “Livin’ Loud” in the harsh automotive
environment. CompVT subwoofers are versatile and surpass the competition in a sealed box, but can also be mounted in free air applications and factory cutout locations. The small diameter of the CompVT 65 subwoofers make them ideal for custom installations and space-limited applications. See Figure 1. They are made of advanced materials and construction techniques to maintain optimal performance for years to come.Mount driver with the enclosed screws"

The factory amp meets the rec rms for the cvt's. Dont waste the money unless you plan on going bigger later. My CVT's are going to be replaced with a set of seperates when I go to my new set-up. New set-up will be JBL GTO 4ch, mono block, 2 sets of 6.5 components, & 2 10'' subs.

I also think the cvt's are missing some mid range.
