Default Does anyone make this?

Does anyone know if there is a way to have live engine data displayed on a double din nav. system? I was just thinking that would be awsome! Maybe taking a chip that displayed live data and somehow working into the double din so you have touch screen information.

OR does anyone know who makes a display tuner for our cars. Like those heads up displays that diseils have in the corner of their dash or whatever.

Are you talking about something that would just read all the data coming through the OBDII port? The Interceptor gauge does exactly that, except that its a gauge. As for the double din I know that on my Kenwood DNX5120 its not possible, but maybe on some of the Pioneer units because it already has support to display certain info (although I doubt anything close to what your looking for). If you had a carputer im pretty sure you could do it, just gotta run something like hp tuners. Good luck...

Some carputers display OBD2 information, indeed.

Yep! You can set up a carputer and hook it up with some OBDII scanning software. Some places make snazzy GUI's for them too!

When it comes to stuff like this... If you have to ask about prices, it's probably out of your range.

Carputer = computer for your car, think desktop PC but in a car audio amplifier shell.
GUI = graphic user interface.

That didnt help much. I know about monitoring all your systems on a computer, but what i am looking for is a way to display that information on a touch screen double din system in my car.

That guy already has a touch screen carputer system set up (which you will need - first) and he was looking for an OBD-II compatible GUI (graphic user interface) to display temperatures and various info. There is a local member in the San Diego area who is an expert on the subject (IMO)... TA-Swede I believe is his username. If you are really serious about it then he would be the guy to get in touch with.

A quick series of Google searches yielded this result:

Hope this helps. Reading required.

If your interested I can set you up with something and show you some samples (i've built car puters for friends trucks mercedes etc) as far as monitoring the things offa OBD II I would think w/ something like HP tuners you could just have it running showing you real time stuff -

It's going to run you at least 700$ without HP Tuners

thats
$200 touch screen in dash (I bought a 7" widescreen that fit)
$400 computer 2-3ghz 2-4 gigs ram 250 gb hard drive
$100 for labor (me lol)

Zex- Thanks, good info.
Eddie - I didnt know you were into that too, i thought you just worked on desktops at work or something. But I'd love to see some examples to know what they can do and about what cost range im getting myself into.
