took some pics of the valve cover. it looks like a few of the lifters have been shooting some nasty stuff up through the push rods. don't mind the grass i washed it off.

i could take one off. my goal was to make two different angles to make sure you could see it well. better to diagnose it.

last two replies. https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...head-area.html did you ever find a part number for ls1 size 5 layer gaskets?
the only good thing here is i think i have a blown head gasket on that side any way. the block is wet and the reservoir is almost empty. now if i can just get my ls6 heads finished.

i was ready where some one was talking about weak valve springs can cause the lifters to go. would ls6 springs with 10psi be considered weak?

I ordered new head bolts, new head gaskets and LS7 lifters from Texas Speed, they had everything I needed. I think it was like $250 for those parts.

How many miles are on the engine?

i would go with patriot dual springs for 10 psi.

ok so i ordered new lifters, patriot gold springs, arp studs, and gm 3 layer gaskets. got the even bank lifters out. how can you tell if they are bad? they all look the same. i took some apart. one that i think is bad and one i think is good. the "bad" one had about half the amount of oil as the "good" one inside it. i can't squish any of them by just using my finger while they are completely together.

Mine looked normal but I heard that it could have been inside the lifter
