Default Stupid question? Will a stock throttle body fit a FAST intake?

If all goes well I'm getting a fast 90mm for a killer price that I can't refuse. I was originally gonna use a ls6 so I'm already spending some extra money I didn't want to.

But unless I get an equally killer deal on a 90mm tb soon, this thing either has to sit in the corner taunting me or I have to find a way to make this work...but I realized I've never even heard if a stock tb will fit at all.

I know this isn't optimal so no need to rag on me for that. I just hate having new toys I can't play with.

But unless someone buys my old 700r4, my 98 ls1 heads, or my corvette a/c stuff along with my ls1 intake, fuel rail, and stock injectors it might be a while before I can get a good tb and then it will be even longer until I can get a good tune.

Feel free to flame away if you want, but hopefully I get at least 1 good answer.

I don't think it would work but didn't you just post in another thread how you can't justify the cost of a fast for the gains??? lol it must be some killer deal...

yes I did, $1000-1400 is not worth the gains to me, especially since I don't get to sell a ls6 to offset my cost like some people do...I got offered a deal I cannot refuse

the barely used intake is $500 with fuel rail and injectors and all hardware, even the factory box...only an idiot would pass this deal IMO

later on I will take it apart for porting which I can do myself, on my car the intake is easily taken off in 20 min or less so I could do that whenever

trying not to hjack the thread but if you can't afford the TB to go along with it why would you just buy the intake and sell it for more and make some money.

considered it, but I'd rather hang on to it if its as good as everyone says it is...I'll be able to afford a tb sometime I'm just not sure when at the moment

if nothing else like I said I'll stick it in the corner until then, I don't get deals very often so I'd like to take advantage of it

this was just an idea because a search found a thread where several people said the fast 78mm made around 5hp less on the top end of the power band compared to the 90mm, since my shifts will not be set past 6200 on stock rod bolts anyway...besides that I'm pulling a ls1 intake instead of a ls6 so I am hoping for a pretty decent gain

kinda figured I'd have some people scratching their heads but for once I'd like to spend some of my tax refund on a treat instead of ending up pissing it away just eating out more often or something stupid

wonder if maybe I would be better off seeing about trading someone for a 78mm upper shell plus some bucks?

like I said my car will be staying below 6500rpm so that extra up top might not be worth it for me, especially on stock heads?

The early FAST units had sticking issues.

Yeah I've read about that problem.

I think I'm going to just look for a tb deal. I'm hoping to get almost enough for my ls1, ported tb, fuel rails, and injectors to come close to paying for the tb.

that's a good chunk more than I want to spend...I'd like to be closer to $200, $250 at the most

are any ls2 style cable driven/ would also fit?

You can buy a adapter for 78mm to 90mm TB or make one. Or you can buy a 90mm TB on Ebay for about a couple of hundred or less. A direct fit is not possible on the 90mm series.
