Porsche 911 Carrera S
So I took the car out today since the weather was somewhat decent, jumped on the highway of coarse all the competition is on the other side of the highway. Saw couple mustangs, G8, vette, and a Camaro. So I was cruising along at about 70 and looked up at the rear veiw to see a Porsche moving along in the passing lane it had to be a newer one like 05+ because it had the big openings in the grill. As he drives by I look over, he didnt look over he was in his 40's if I had to guess. I pull out behind him hes doing about 80, I followed it said Carrera S on the back. He pulls back into the travel lane and slowly pass him at like 85 and I pull over. He then passed me again and I look over hes not looking over but had a **** eating grin on his face. So I start to pace him then he just romps on it and puts a half car on me, so I stomp on it at about 85 and reel him in very quickly and blow by him, by the time I let off at about 130 I had a couple busses on him. He just stayed back and didnt want round 2. I think he was
*Cliffs* Beat a Carrera S from a 85-130 by 2 busses.

Yes im aware they are not a straight line cars, I wouldnt attempt to try a fast corner with no sway bar on the front of my car...
The Carrera S is 355hp and will run a high 12. The turbo models are 450hp and will run low 12's. I wish it was the turbo model....

Those turbo cars get like 20hp more with just an air filter change hahaha.
Some with MT D/R's on all 4 corners.
Even with sway bars and all I would stay away from corner races with them. My dad has an 81 924 Turbo, super slow in the straight line but they were one of or the first factory production car to pull a G on the skid pad bone stock. In the corners anything I will ever have any time soon would get killed by his car.
Most Porsche drivers don't know how to drive either sadly...

I'm sorry, but there's no way in hell you pulled "busses" on a Carrera S in that small a distance, especially at those speeds. They run mid-high 12s and trap 110-114mph depending on year, and you only trap 112mph. So I'll be the first to throw up the flag. Either he was in the wrong gear, or you were sorely mistaken on what year the car was.

Well what the hell!!!! I don't care how many buses you beat him by. A win is a win is a win!!!! Congrats on the WIN!!
Seriously though.....shouldn't ya'll consider a different car for handling corners at high speeds??? I bought my car for straight line speeds, not cornering. But to each his own I guess.

My point was that a mid 12s car that traps 110-114mph stock, and tops out at ~180mph isn't going to get yanked like that at those speeds by a low-mid 12s car that traps 112mph.

The gear ratio between those cars are only about .10 off from one another at those speeds, (assuming you have stock gears). Plus the Porsche has a hell of a top end.
Don't see it happening unless he wasn't to the floor.

You clown, that model I ran only runs low 13's high 12's at 109. And my car will trap higher than 112 and will run faster than a 12.4, im guessing I have a second and 5mph on that car. Both of our cars weigh the same also....

So your car will run faster than a 12.4, but has it?
If not, I can't see you pulling bus lengths on him at 110+
He wasn't racing, or didn't know how to drive.

The last time I ran my car it was on a stock tune shifting at stock shift points and bouncing off the limiter in every gear. Who knows maybe after I put a bus on him he let off? I know if someone put a bus on me I would let off too...

You are not going to pull "busses" on a car that traps 109-110mph during a 45mph run, when he GOT THE JUMP, unless the guy was in 5th gear already. Those cars are pretty fast up top. I'm not doubting that you beat this guy but I wouldn't expect it to happen like that again. And that trapspeed is assuming that it wasn't a new model. The new ones are the ones that run low-mid 12s and trap 114-115mph. The first 997 Carrera S was high 12s @ ~110mph. So do you think you would pull an extremely well-driven M6 C5 as hard as you pulled this guy?

Like I said it was the older 35xhp model not the new 38xhp one...
