Default waterpump

does anybody know if a 6.0 waterpump needs to spin a certain way.or does it matter?

I would think that the impellers are deisgned to spin only one way but i am not positive. I know you can not spin a Hayward Super Pump backwards lol.

There was one member on here who got his to spin the other direction, but he machined a new impeller to do it.

Seems like it would just be easier to go with electric pump if you're wanting it to sping backwards. This is for a twin engine boat im assuming?

it's in a car with no power acc. and was going to put a very short belt on it alt is on the driver side but it spins it the wrong way.just might go electric pump instead.dont care to run that tensioner...

This is the same way im running mine with no issues to 7,000rpm so far. (not my car same belt routing though)
