Default Catted y pipe or no cats?

I'm going to order some headers in a day or so. Should I get a catted y pipe or no cats? If no cats, what would I need to not set the check engine light? I live in WI.

Go with cats, it will sound better and get ird of the inspection headache. Either way you go, you will need to tune out the rear O2 or get simulators to avoid the check engine light. You could also weld the oxygen sensor bungs in for the rear sensors, but it would be easier to tune them out.

Emmisons testing=cats

Money= catless

Wanna be loud and possibly have rasp=catless

Mine is borderline loud to me and obnoxious to some with cats but I have NO rsap at all. They are hi-flows and cost me 5-6hp if that.

If you are ever gonna run a cam it will make you exponentially louder so keep that in mind. If noise is a long range concern get some good metallic core cats like Magnaflow or Randomtech. Cats just mellow it out a bit but it will still SCREAM at WOT

The Kook's cats are Magnaflows. They flow very well and get rid of rasp and raw fuel smell...

Couldn't agree with that statement more... (although I do have some rasp around 2k or so)

Mine never threw any cat codes with rear o2's functional. My CEL was on, but that was due to no egr and air. But if you are tuning it certainly wouldn't hurt to have em turned off.

Well I just put in an order for coated pacesetter lt's, pacesetter catless y pipe and 2 o2 sims. Also getting a slp lid. I don't mind a loud car. Going to be a weekend toy anyways. My turbo gp has a open down pipe. It's very loud!!
Will these mods wake the car up? I already have 3'' slp cat back on the car.
