raced a camaro ss last night
I rolled up to a stop light and some foreign car and a camaro ss somewhere in years 2000-2002 were sitting there. I could tell they were about to race. So we took off from the light and I edged up a bit and the foreign car backed down, at this point we we're doing about 25-30 mph maybe. So I jumped on it right side by side with him and I pulled about 1 car on this guy driving the camaro. Is this actually possible? It seemed to me like he was actually trying, but I dont know. He didn't seem to have any mods done and I couldn't hear any exhaust and I just have a couple little things done as you can see in my sig. what do you guys think?

He wasnt trying, trust me. F-body > W-body
Either that or it was an older 4th gen and had the LT1. And even then we're talking about an engine with about the same power as the LS4, and its in a car that weighs less.
Driver mod maybe...? LOL! It could have been a 6sp, and then I might believe it, most people cant drive manuals for ****. Those are the same people that call autos "retarded" and "they arent even sports cars". Please...thats why I was running 11s with a stall and half there mods...right? LOL!

I think... L O L I think you probably would've heard a stock SS even. But you've got a v8 too so maybe the sounds canceled out. a stock v6 would be more like silent. either way keep modding so it won't matter if it was an SS or not

Yea, I thought for sure this guy was going to beat me. Like you guys are saying almost 99.9% percent sure that he is a non driver. Scared of the beast.

Yea, definitely driver error. But a win is a win.
And while yes we have seen high 13's on some occasions, it's not THAT common. An inexperienced driver will have problems even getting low 14's I've seen many people who have been to the track a few times and with a couple mods only pull mid 14's. You gotta be a very experienced driver and have perfect conditions to get into the 13's stock.

Well thats odd, i've seen quite a few do 13's at the local track, probably more than not. I never took mine to the track but i didnt see how it would be that difficult considering how the gtp's would hit at least mid 14's consistantly (that ive seen).

I hit 13.9 stock, a week after purchase of the vehicle. I came from RWD's so I had no experience launching a FWD V8. I mean, I had a 5 speed FWD Honda before it but I never took it to the track or raced it. Previous to that I had only been to the track a few times. I guess being at just about sea level does help though haha.
