Talking surprised a magnum

last night coming home from school saw two sets of H.I.Ds one was a little ricer and the other was a magnum. Guess they were racing but when they past me the magnum slowed down next to me and the accord got off at the next exit. I have not been able to see what my 98' T/A a4 (bone stock) can compete with. So we were at like 50 when he started to honk at the third honk we both took off and he pulled slightly until 70 and that's when the T/A woke up that **** just started to pull (not to hard) enough to make him not not want play anymore. We both exited on the same exit and he wanted to race out of the hole but they're to many cops by that area. So when we got to the next light I put him in his place til' bout 60 then let off. (car and a half) in is place. Big difference in a LT1 and a LS1. Just switched over and I'm so happy!!! Only regret was the magnum did not say r/t or srt-8. don't think it was a srt-8 tho. It was lime green custom paint on like 22's. Thought I would have pulled little harder due to the fact he was on 22's. Still was alot of fun!

Nice Job. LT1 > LS1, good call. The difference is pretty big (IMO).

I have a similar story, mine was an R/T though. I was on a highway (doing 70 on Rt. 70) and he pulled up next to me. None of that honking business we just gunned it. He kept up for about 3 seconds and that's when I started pulling on him BIG time. He went with me 2 more times just to be sure that his car wasn't slacking on him. His girlfriend was with him (as was mine) so I guess he was a little embarassed.

The last run we made it upto 130. Our windows were down since it was summer and he had the biggest grin on his face as he gave me a thumbs up (I can't help but enjoy when someone else likes my car). As soon as we called it quits we crested a hill where 2 popos were taking radar. Neither of us was pulled over.

Those folks with Hemis always underestimate an LS1 camaro. They have to learn the hard & fun way... Nice job. I must say that I think it was an R/T. SRTs would run closer, I think.

if you are trying to say LT1's are greater than LS1's then you sir did that correctly, but i'm leaning towards you did that arrow backwards. . .

Nice kill. Its the best when they are a good sport about it. If he had paint and wheels, perhaps he has CAI/tune making up for the 22s, etc.?

I could pick up a handful of rocks and throw them in every direction and hit at least a dozen. People sweat those things hard.

It's weird, they are so common but sales must have dropped off so badly that they stopped making them.

4200-4250lbs for the SRT-8. Heavy, really heavy. The standard 4-door 6.1(mine) was 4100lbs with 2 gallons of gas.
