Default 2009 Build-Turbo 98 Cyber Gray SS-Updated pictures March 17th

I see a lot of builds being posted here, so I thought I would through in my 2009 build. Been high 8's so the progressive step is low 8's\high 7's.

Iron block 370ci Iron block - with the good turbo parts - half filled
Same AFR 225 heads
Same WTW cam
Same TH-400
Same 9" rear-end with 3.50's
Same Victor Jr Intake

We'll be running E-98 this year, so we up the injectors. 8 160lbers and 8 100lbers = 260lb per cylinder.

I guess the biggest change is from twin T-67's to a little 106MM Precision turbo.

Oh ya, another small change: painted the NBM 1998 SS (original SS build #114) to the ZR1 Cyber Gray. Very cool color. It will be very light sensitive. Has a lot of pearl in it.

There will be many other changes to accommodate the new power: 25.5 cage; all new fuel system; new brake system.

The entire build is being done by my builder of many years and my sponsor, Joey at Excessive AutoSports.

Here's a couple of pictures:

The pictures do not do the car or color right. The more I look at the SS. The more I know I did the right thing to change colors.

You look old hahaha j/k.

Love the paint and hopefully that cage is a molly 25.5, the MS 25.5 cars take a huge hit in value and weigh a bit more.

Wow. I love my NBM, but that color looks amazing! I am painting my BBC camaro. I want to do it like a dark charcoal grey. Maybe I'll look into that color though. Any other pictures with the new paint? Thanks!

Mounts. We considered plates but decided to try this way. We have run stock poly mounts to over 1K rwhp and 8's at 154mph. We are hoping the solid mm will do as well.

Thanks for the great comments guys. I should have more pictures in the near future. We are planning on going to the World of Wheels in Omaha NE on March 20th.

First of all, VERY nice setup. Love teh color, looks REAl good, I like it alot.

I do have a couple questions:

First, sure does seem like alot of injector for your goals. Why do you feel you need the 160 AND the 100?

Second. With all the work you are doing to the car, and this is obvioulsy not some "throwing a new turbo on" type of job, AND since you are wanting to pick up @ a second in teh 1/4....why would you keep the same cam? Converter?

I mean, you see so many cars running rock bottom 7's and 6's with just set of 160 lb r's, just curious as to why you want the complexity of running the 2nd row. I mean, you can even step up to the Moran's injectors that are adjustable. Just seems like alot of work (and $$$$$$) to add that second row of injectors, when you can get what you want with just one set.

The cam and converter I can see more so than the injectors, but thought I would ask anyways. Obviously you are gonna be making and NEEDING alot more power to pick up that second you want....I would think you would want more cam to help out and more converter.

I am just simply asking some simple questions that I thought of after reading about your build. PLEASE do not take it anyway but that...a SIMPLE question is all. As I said, your car look sick, and the build looks like it is gona be a nice setup, for sure. Good luck!

Good luck with the build.

I've seen that color in person on a ZR1 and it looks awesome. Good luck with your build.

Who runs a single injector that runs that fast? Unless your running the new mike moran adjustable billet injectors. I have seen 3 injectors per cylinder. My LSX is going to have double injectors as well.

Tim Lynch comes to mind (he just switched over to a second row or the Morans I believe) but he was making in the neighborhood of 3500 HP (BBF Turbo) with the one row.

Edit:
Did some research, Lynch's combo:

620 CI BBF, twin 91's
6.50's @231 MPH
No dyno, but they figure with weight (3,050 LBS) and ET(6.50's) in the area of 3500 HP
One row of injectors (240 Lb) @ 100%

Yeah But look at what size injectors they are. They stopped making them for a while. up until moran's injectors they didn't have anything remotely big enough.

Thanks guys.

Reason for the double injectors: we are going to be running E98..more injector is going to be needed to pump in more gas. The car is run off AEM so we will be able to control the amount, time, etc for the injectors. If we do run a race that E98 is not allowed will just retune for C16.

Converter was built for 1500+ hp.. why change. I worry more about the TH-400. If someone wants to donate $5K for a new glide and converter, I'm wide open for the donation.

Cam.. again it works. We have thought about going solid, but we'll try this first.

NOTHING, I mean NOTHING, is thrown together on this set up. My builder has thought everything out. There is a lot more changes. To list all of the changes would take way to much space. Money is more of a limiting factor. My sponsor has a very small shop. I supply the parts, he has been supply many, many hours of his own time. I can't thank Joey enough.
