Default right fluid for rear end?

Ive got 2 quarts of redline 80w-140, just wondering if that was the right fluid for a stock 10bolt.

The manual says 75w-90, so thats what I put in. Not sure if it matters....

80w140 will work fine... that's what I have in my differential. My 4.10 gears were getting noisy with 75w90, but are a lot quieter now with Redline 80w140.

80w/140 is fine.Wouldn't recommend Redline synthetic if your rear is a Auburn though.Might make the clutch packs slip more.I know 01+02's have torsions which can use synthetic.

That's right... I just saw that you have a '98. If you have an Auburn diff, you don't want to use synthetic rear end fluid.

98 was the only year that gm offered the auburn posi unit so you will have to check your rpo codes to see(not sure what the rpo code is though)after that(99+)the torsen unit came standard on all ss and z28 models if i am correct
