I just bought this to convert my car to auto. I think it might be a v6 trans.

Default I just bought this to convert my car to auto. I think it might be a v6 trans.

The guy I got this from said it was for an ls1. But I think the belhousing is wrong and the converter looks differnt like from a v6. Would like a second opinion before I rip the car apart.

Thanks,C

You would need inputs shaft and pump stator assembly plus the bell and the procedure would not be very far from rebuilding the trans.

Can you get the stator assembly seperate or do I need the v8 pump?
So v8 input shaft, Belhousing I was going to pull the pump out to put the shift kit in so I could probably swap it out. I was told to change the rings in the pump too.
Are the clutch packs and everything else the same. Or do I have to go deeper. PM me if you want.
Thanks

Internally other than that they are pretty much the same, You will want to install a corvette servo. And yes you can just swap the entire pump assembly.
I would inspect the unit carefully internally if i was going into it at all. If your doing the transgo you will have it near completely torn down.

Buddy isn't returning any calls so I ripped it all apart, like new inside. I'm going to find the pieces I need to convert it to v8 plus some other parts to make it stronger. Sleave for the input drum. heavyduty 2-4 band, heavy duty sun shell, heavy duty 3-4 clutch, corvette servo, billet rings for the pump and transgo hd 2 shift kit. Hope it lasts... If I can keep the shifts below 6000 rpm..
