Default PAC 1218 Springs?

Are these safe you use with stock retainers and seats?
just making sure...

btw i have a 2004 GTO so i have the 01 up style seat.

Absolutely, no issue as long as your stock gear is in good shape.

those are the same ones I just put on mine with stock seals, retainers, locks...


Do you think by chance sometime I could come and check out your ride with the 228r in it? I'd like to see the characteristics of that cam.

yea its not running yet valvetrain parts come in thursday.
but sure man!
yea stock gear has 30k on it and is in good shape.

sounds good. I'm assuming you got those springs from SDPC, correct? Absolutely great price thru them. I kinda wish I went with the 1518's though. Oh well.

i got the spring installed height measureing tool to make sure, but did you shim yours at all?

PAC-1218 and PAC-1518 are LS1 drop in replacements, okay to use stock seats, seals, and retainers no problem. Stock retainers are a gram lighter then aftermarket retainers (steel) too!

I can only find comp springs at tsp and scoggin dickey. Where are you guys finding the pac springs? I dont want comps junk, sounds like they are still failing people

I did not shim mine.


I don't see those 1218's listed on TSP's site, but I hope you didn't pay more than $125 for them.

yep running tonight went with the standard 7.4's

getting tuned tuesday..

but took it out and baby'ed it, heat cycling the springs

who's tuning it for you? 7.425s would have been a better choice for reduced valvetrain noise, but the 7.4s will work.
