Default Car wont start ques????

My Camaro is pissed off a little....

Try to start it gage lights all light up, head lights come on and dim when key is cranked, car will make no cranking noise at all when key is turned fwd. All electronics seem to work just fine.

It acts almost as if the cars not in park. Ive tried slamming it in park a couple times and neutral starting it and it hasnt work. I even tried a jump start as well but obviously didnt help a thing. Thinking it may be the starter or possibly the wiring harness inside the dash is corroded.

Any ideas would be very helpful thanx....

A guy I work with had this happen to his newer F150 and it ended up being the starter silinoid. (Sorry if thats the wrong spelling.) GM starter motor and silinoid are one unit, so my first fix would be to try the starter. Good Luck.

Check grounds....

Check not only the battery voltage, but load test it also...

just replaced the starter and there was no change and the battery is showing healthy numbers. Something vital to making the starter function isnt working obviously. It just seems like the obvious stuff isnt whats wrong with it. Keep the ideas coming....

What's the battery voltage? I'd have it load tested just to eliminate it as the problem. Is the security light staying on?

got it narrowed down to it being an issue with the anti theft. Tried restarting the computer but it didnt work. Im thinking maybe a wires gone bad in the lock cylinder thats not allowing it to read the chip. Anyone ever heard of this??

also the security light is blinking

check grounds in front of your radiator and on uni body by the abs block and if it is your anti theft you should be able to leave your key on long enough for it to go out and you will be able to start your car so hope this helps im saying ground since you headlights are dim

tried the other key already, didnt make a difference. I tried leaving the key turned on for about 20 minutes and that didnt work. Still thinking somethings wrong around the lock cylinder
