JL Ws6 runs a plastic one, and it is secured. I would run one if it wasnt going impact where the T-tops sit. I know, I am a Wuss.

In order to run a plastic box, it must be sealed and NHRA approved.

Only two that I know of:

Summit Racing part G1231

Moroso part 74050

The summit box listed above also comes in a kit with wires etc. Its a steal of a deal at $110, and I think its on special now for a tad less. I just finished up my install last week and it came with everything I needed minus a couple ring terminals to use with the moroso switch I bought to go with it.

Thought NHRA didn't recognize a gel battery as any different than a wet cell and required all batteries to be in a box or behind a bulkhead...

From my tech director at my track

"All relocated batteries must be secured with a minimum of 2 3/8 diameter bolt or rods. When reloacated to the rear of vehicle, the passenger compartment must be protected by a "firewall" consisting of a minimumof .024steel or.032 aluminum. this is for a dry cell battery"

So I sold my BMR relocation mount and bought this box

because this kit from summit provides everythhing but a switch?
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

and with burkharrt you would still need to buy a $60 box?

I'd like to know also. With the Summit kit, you would also have to go with something like the BMR spare tire mount, then the Flaming River disconnect. I think no matter what, your looking at a couple hundo for the whole deal.

How are people linking the stock cables to the new + cable? I was just out looking at mine, and it looks like you have to ditch the stock battery connector.

NHRA definately does not differentiate between dry, gel or wet cell batteries. Same rules apply - so if you mount in the spare tire well, you need a bulkhead or a sealed box.

It would really suck to get to the track only to fail tech on something like that.
