anyone know where i can get a tool to take off the cap from the dist

autozone should have the little socket that you need. i believe it is E4 torx

You can make a tool for a buck or so. A throttle body top plate screw has the right size (E4 torx). Use that as a guide for getting another bolt at a hardware store.

Or you can just use the TB plate screw with a vice grips on the non-threaded portion.

alright cool thanks guys. the socket i used was from snap on and it didn't get deep enough into the hole i think and screwed the top part of it up so i need something to get deeper in there....thanks ill try the tb screw for now

If you want the socket, the exact name you need is a deep thin-walled E4 inverted torx. Also known as a throttle body screw.

My Autozone did not have the tool. I removed a throttle body cover screw, locked it my small vicegips (just the tip, so it did not damage the threads), and removed all the screws. No cost, easy to do.

If you want the actual tool you can get it from Pep Boys. I searched everywhere and they were the only ones that had it.

Thats the photo of my tool. Some of you guys are trying to boil the ocean here.

Just go to any hardware store, get a E4 torx screw, get a wing nut and a jam nut. Spend all of 30 seconds putting it together as shown above. And you have an Opti cap removal tool that cost less than a cheeseburger.

I should auctions these things on Ebay and make a killing.

This just ain't so. I did go to the local hardware store (Ace), they thought I was speaking Greek.
And BOL on marketing it, we are such orphaned engines that I wish you the best.

If your local Ace hardware does not have a run of the mill torx screw. It must be run by a bunch of "Greek" retards that shoulb making fries. I know that here in po' dunk Kentucky, every hardware store on every corner has torx screws. If you cant find any in Indy, you are clearly, respectfully not trying very hard to find one.
