leave your ignition on for 15 minutes to reset theft, or check your starter relay, switch with another relay in your relay box

I guessing it has to do with the VATS, but beyond that I don't know.

I have the same problem. My car stranded me for the first time in 7years. Anyway I checked all the fuses. I tried to read the codes but none were showing Since I drive 20 miles each way to work I don't have the time to mess around. I had it towed to the Pontiac Dealer. I will let you know how I made out. 125 to start the Diag.

try doing a search, there is a way to bypass the Vats.
It sounds like a problem with the Vats.

Bypass the VATS. . . .Check the resistance of your key pellet, use the appropriate resitor.

Or you could try cleaning the key first around the pellet connections and blow air throw the key barell.

+3 blinking SES might have to do with your VATS. My 94 vats took a dump and had to replace. Bypass it

597 for a newtumbler set and 2 keys ....ALL IS GOOD.
It's been a pretty trouble free car so i didn't mind paying.

VATS, mine did it too...twice First time is was the complete ignition assembly then it was the resistor, so the guy who did the work by-passed it.

If you got a new cylinder & key, take one of your original VATS keys & put it in the new cylinder. Then remove the trim panel below your steering wheel, there should be the VATS connector for your cylinder, small black connector with an orange wire protector loom. Unplug that & plug in your new cylinder & key. Then if you have a spare ignition key, use that to turn your ignition over & try starting the car. If it starts, then the wires are broken in the column for the key cylinder, its the most common problem. I have even seen cars come in for service that had an extra VATS cylinder ziptied under the dash with a good VATS key installed in it & plugged into the Passkey harness because they didnt want to take the column apart & install it the right way. Its one way to bypass it, but it makes it easy for someone else to steal your car.
