Default 317 heads on ls1 what push rod?

i looked around on here and saw that the 7.425 are the ones to run. i heard that 7.400 would work. anyone have solid info on this? would 7.400 work? i should be using 02+ z06 cam if that matters.

I have 317s and am running 7.400" pushrods. We used a gauge to make sure we had they would work before installing them.

Run 7.400 on a 317 with a stroker/P1sc blower and a compcam xr281HR-12. No problems here.

why would they differ? 5.7 heads are the same as 6.0 heads. I used the stock size ones.

I found spec for XER281HR @ 232/234 & .595/.598, is that what you have or if not what's the diff? Does the -12 mean 112LSA? If not what LSA is yours? What kinda boost you running? PM me if you can, not trying to steal the thread.

Most cams call for 7.4 push rods ( stock length ) unless you have milled the heads.

The deal with needing the longer p.r. With the ls6 cam is the smaller base circle

Different cams and different headgaskets will dictate different pushrods. Stock for stock they will use the same 7.400 pushrods as a stock 02 LS1.
But I am sure you will be getting a cam too............
