Default Hesitation between 2500-3500RPM

Hey all,

I have a 99 ls1 transam 6 speed. Mostly stock. 126K on it and for the last 10k i've had a really bad hesitation in every gear from 2500-3500. it feels like the power just completely shuts off even with the foot to the floor. once the car slowly works its way though that RPM range the car once again comes to life over 3500 and can even break the tires back free.

So i did a turn up: Plugs, wires, air filter, Fuel Filter, 4 o2 sensors, PCV, fuel injectors cleaned. same problem even after the tune up. I'm not throwing any codes and it seams to only give me the problem when the motor has a load on it. In neutral it shoots through the RPM range. Any ideas?

I'm thinking MAP, MAF, or CATS anyone else have these problems?

Yes original Fuel pump. I thought of the fuel pump but why would the car come back to life at higher RPM's if it was the fuel pump though if that is the culprit.

The MAF can also cause these exact problems, because one of my friends 2000 had the same problem you are describing and it was his MAF that went bad.

Mine used to do it, I cleaned the MAF and replaced a burnt out O2 and it fixed it. IDK which fixed it since I did both at the same time.

Buy a can of MAF cleaner first thing and spray the crap out of yours. With the little wires spray q-tips with the MAF cleaner then gently wipe the little wires in the middle of the MAF.

MAF Cleaner seamed to work. I went through over 20 q tips cleaning the damn thing out. Thank god for the MAF screen or it would have ben much worse.

Thanks all for your help.
