Default Pass 'visual inspection'

I may live in the strictest town in Texas as far as emissions go but what can I do to pass a visual inspection with an ORY? I don't want cats, they are too expensive and finding a cheap, catted y-pipe that performs JUST as good as an ORY is near impossible. I was thinking to weld these in the y-pipe. http://www.frozenboost.com/product_i...4dc11f7f10267a
They would pass a visual, but I'm looking at the QTP y-pipe and I have no clue where those would go. Think I can get away with just one in the I-pipe? I keep blowing up the threads here, but I'm piecing my exhaust together right now and I have to get it right the first time. Lol. Never enough money!

Thanks in advance!

I doubt it will pass the visual with just one but two of the "non" cats it should pass. You could always do a hammer mod to the non cats on one side to make them tuck right

theoretically speaking, you could always pull the shells off some old cats and weld them on. that way it would look like you had cats.

Well, I talked to a welder and he said the metal on the cat is too old and has too many heat cycles to weld properly to much of anything. I told him my ORY was going to be stainless and he said that the materials won't weld together and if they did, it would not last long at all.

just go to a junk yard and find some. you can use some small bolts to hold them on untill after the inspection, no need to weld. just make it look original.

ive welded stainless heat shields to mild steel pipe to make a fake cat. Its not a big deal, it may not be the thing to do if you were building a bridge. Tell your welder to take off his skirt and put on a set of pants.
