I spun my old motor (cam only, stock shortblock) to 6800 on countless track passes over a couple years. I don't know how long it would have lasted, but there were no signs of bottom end damage when I tore it down.

well with ARP rod bolts its no longer stock bottom end really...
completely stock plenty of guys spin up to 7,000... but thats the limiter, they're shifting earlier then that
with the arp rod bolts alot of guys spin plenty pasted 7,000 with out a problem
now whats safe???? really nothing close to that, it could last 4 passes or 400 passes, ya never know
also keep in mind your curves when deciding where to shift, some set ups drop off very fast
