i don't think so, however if i remember correctly there is one bolt that is a PITA to reach on the bottom of the pump, and if you drop it, it is stuck in the pan. I changed my pump when i did the cam swap a couple years ago, and i tied floss around that bolt while putting it in just in case i dropped it.

you dont need to drop the pan to do the rear main. Remove the trans and remove the rear cover and then you can just pop it out and press the new one in.
Why do you need to change the oil pan gasket? Ive never heard of one failing, most likely just you rear main

^^^ I second that.. I did my rear main and tried to drop my oil pan at the same time by lifting the motor when the tranny was out. Ended up bolting the tranny back in then dropping the K-Member and doing the oil pan. Later i did the oil pump, had to lower the pan some for that, but did'nt have any problems with the bolt.

if i remember correctly it might make the pump swap a little easier to unbolt the pan and pry it down a bit, but some might argue that cracking open the pan even just a little bit will cause leaks down the road.

Yeah, I lowered the pan some to gain clearance around the pump and pickup tube. I think it made it easer to get the bolt out of the pickup tube and get that out/back in.
I think when i dropped the k-member these were the approxamite steps. By no means is this an exact guide. This is just so you can get an idea of what needs to be done. I am listing these steps from memory and I did this almost 4 months ago.
* disconnect battery, remove lid/intake duct, remove upper radiator bracket/bottom airbox(not sure the correct name)
* remove front tires.
* remove fans and altenator.
* remove bolts from ac pump and move it out of the way without disconnecting or breaking any lines.
* Disconnect steering shaft and power steering lines from rack.
* remove brackets/holders from front brake lines that hold the lines to the k-member. remove calipers and hang them a side with wire.
* remove 2 bolts on each side that attach struts to lower A-arm
* Disconnect upper Balljoint form Spindle.
* Disconnect the sway bar endlinks
* remove motor mount nuts
** connect engine hoist and lift engine a little bit to take some pressure of motor mount bolts.
* remove motor mount bolts.
** (at this point i set 4x4 blocks on each fender well and used a 1" solid steel bar to support the motor while i removed the hoist)
if you do not have a lift you'll have to lift the motor using that and put a stand or blocks under it to hold it up.
* Loosen but do not remove the 6 k-member bolts. at this point I removed the 2 middle ones.
* Since i had a lift i lowered the car till the k-member rested on a 55 gallon drum i had placed under the car
If you are not using a lift you could put a jack under the k-member and lower it down after removing the bolts.
*remove the remaining 4 bolts from the k-member
*slowly raise the car and watch for anything that snags. (or lower the jack..)
That should be about it...
