Default what race brakes fit my rear-end

I have an 8.8 rear in my 2000 TA. It has ford bearing cups and i THINK they are the large ones but dont know how to tell. It uses the stock backing plates and stock brakes if that matters. I want to get some rear drag brakes . Any help on which ones i need?

If it uses stock brake backing plates its got a chevy housing end. I though most of the 8.8's were made using stock 10bolt axles.

hmmmm....I am confused....i replaced the bearings and locks that keep the bearings on the axles and I thought they said that bearing was for a ford 9". The bearing cups have been cut off the stock axle tubes and these put on...whatever they are. i am gonna look up the bearing numbers i guess. I know the backing plates hold the axles in

ok the bearings on my axles are timken 514003......this bearing shows correct for like a 1980 and older ford...not our fbody

i mean do i get a model made for a 9"...12bolt...8.8.....stock fbody rear?
I am thinking I get the same one everyone here gets since they use stock brakes on 9"/12bolts. Looks like they use those same housing ends like i have.

Thanks guys

you have 9" ends so you will have to run a 9" brake kit. You have to measure the bolt pattern and let which ever manufactor you go with know what ends you have.

Best thing is to call Areo-Space, Wilwood, Strange and talk with one of their tech's and they will get you what you need.

Thanks for the recommendation. Let us know if we can help you further.

cablebandit, let me know if you need more assistance. As well as the brakes, we can offer you our in-house milled bearing spacer kit and braided hoses. I personally recommend Mark Williams or Strange components. Both are very good quality pieces. Strange components are probably the best bang for the buck regarding price and actual quality and design.
