Ran with full interior. Bone stock suspension. Street tires on 17x8/17x9 wheels. Driven 3 hours to the track, lowered air pressure, ran and driven home. Then driven to work the next day

Motor had 100 miles on it for the dyno. 600 miles for the track.

Results: 502/491. My intake and 2.5" catback is holding me back at this point. Got a 10whp/10tq gain throughout the rpm range from taking off the top piece of the volant and taking out the filter. No other changes. Had planned to take off the catback for a couple pulls but time didn't allow it.

Frank from Performabuilt did an EXCELLENT job of staying in touch with me throughout the build. Provided a lot of help via chat with the installs and questions I had. Not to mention their transmissions are awesome!

Vengeance Racing was awesome at supplying the parts I needed very quickly and at a good price. Most of the parts I have are from Vengeance! They always seem to have what I need in stock and usually ship the same day!

Sean at LG Motorsports did the tune on the car and it runs awesome. Holds good timing and doesn't even pull any out! I want to go back for another dyno reading when the motor gets more miles on it.

I got the shortblock from Va Speed. The shortblock seems good so far. Has consistent compression, doesn't smoke and runs hard. Only complaint I have is that Shawn needs to be more available during the build to answer questions. I also have a rear main seal leak it looks like I'll have to fix. But I hear that's a common problem.

Me, myself and I spec'd all the parts for the engine...cam, heads, compression, timing chain, lifters, etc and installed the engine myself

Had to replace the oil pressure sensor last night. Gauge started saying 120psi consistently even with the motor off. Replaced the sensor last night and now everything is reading correctly again. Was working and then just stopped. Pretty weird.

Got the catch can and breather filter on the engine and it didn't seem to help the rear main. So it looks like when I get time I'll be taking out the tranny to fix that

Shawn, I'll hit 1,000 miles this week. Ok to put in synthetic? Wanted to run 10w40 in either Mobil or Castrol. What do you think?

Thanks. Next time I'll be on skinnies, MTs and possible shave the passenger seats. For now I'm real happy though! I met my goals of 10.9@125+ on the very first pass so I was smiling like a little girl. Still on the fence about cutouts. Not sure I want to mess with it. If I could get 20whp out of it I'd be all over it. Just not sure I'd see that.

Glad the motor's running well. Pretty sweet times too.

As for Shawn, cut him a little slack. He builds about 75 engines a year, plus runs the engine dyno, and the diesel dyno, does the machine work, and in his spare time does his best to make sure things run smoothly in the shop.

I used to own/run my own shop, and I'm grateful to now work in a shop where everything I was doing myself previously, is now properly delegated to multiple different people.
