Default Tuner for multiple tunes on the fly?

Im used to mustang tuning, like carrying the SCT X-cal with 3 tunes to choose from, and can switch to any one in about 1 minute.

Is there something we can use, like a handheld tuner that can carry multiple tunes saved on it, and switch from an N/A tune to a Nitrous tune, maybe between runs?

What tuners/tuning software can be used?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Why not just use a SCT Xcal or X3 device?

I have a X3 on my 2006 GTO right now.

Well between runs I can simply flash a tune from my laptop.

Does the U7198 have this capability?

can you load an HPtuners tune on a Predator?
What about an SCT Xcal 2/3/livewire/

The tuners I know around here use HP, so something friendly with that would help.

Otherwise, what tuning software is needed?

I know the SCT requires an .LL3 format, and the predator has something like a .prg file, or something wierd, question is, can HP tuners make a tune in that format?

No, HP tuners files will not work, nor will SCT.

You'd need tunes created with CMR, our tuning software. We use .grg file extension on our newer GM Predators.

You would still need a laptop to be able to switch tunes though, for that you could get a basic HP tuners setup for 1/2 the price as calibration writes only take ~22 seconds with our software which is doable between runs as I did it countless times.

Get EFILive, flash with Custom OS #5. Flip a switch, your now running your nitrous tune. That will do exactly what your wanting to do. You wont have to reflash or shut off your car. We have been running that setup on our n2o cars for a long time now.
This is our main car we use:

WHAT? I didnt know this was available...elaborate please! So no need for a laptop to swap between tunes? The stock pcm has room for basically 2 tunes on it? I had a 350z before my vette and that ecu could hold 5 tunes on it and I could swap between tunes on the fly by using my cruise control buttons

basically with the cos5 on efilive when you flip the switch to arm your nitrous its sets a ground on the pcm which tell the it to flip you to the nitrous tables in cos5, usually pulling 2-4 degrees of timing and adding fuel when needed based on your nitrous shot. in order to do all of this you have to add a double throw double pull relay to your system in place of your stock nitrous relay.

Not sure my friend. Keep watch on the EFILive forums for that.

Does it do it, on the fly? Or must you shut it down to flash it? You'd still need a laptop, either way, correct?

PS Bill thanks for the help with the injector pulse display. The 2.2 doesn't display banks, it show each individual injector. Now I eliminated that as the running issues.

A simple relay resistor box inline with the IAT that switches on with the nitrous arming can easily let you adjust WOT spark AND fuel with HPT, Edit, EFIL... any of these. Run full N/A timing and fueling and when armed be able to run different spark and fuel for the jug...

EFILive is doing beta testing right now to be able to reflash a pcm with the flashscan V2 without a laptop. You will be able to store multiple tunes on a sd card and flash anyone you want in about a minute. You can already log data to the sd card without a laptop.

Not sure honestly, but I know you need a laptop to program it either way.
