Default The new Camaro SS i saw driving around town *PICS*

I didn't even know these are out yet. This one was in Pensacola, FL. with a Michigan tag on it. I sounded REALLY STOUT too.

they look so much bigger than the older camaro's. I thought sports cars were suppose to be light as possible

Yes. It sounded like a standard shift. It wasn't real loud but you could defently hear it. I was at a few red lights with him and it sounds stouter than the 06 GTO i had!

Sports cars are supposed to be light; the Camaro isn't a sports car.

Don't forget government safety regulations.

That is a captured test fleet car. I love the black - just the way a super sport should be. Thanks for sharing!

I live near Oshawa. I've seen tonnes of the v6's around - and one V8 SS - which looked an sounded wild.

Yellow w/ black stripes. I have a crappy cell phone pic..

If they wouldnt have made them as heavy as a SHelby it would have made it much more desirable. A 540 HP Shelby weighs 3900# and run 12.4 @ 114. A 426 HP Camaro weighs 3850 and will probably run low 13s at best. A 2001 Camaro weighed 3400# and ran mid 13s. Just made them too damn heavy to be considered sport cars or to be modded to be fast. It is going to take heads, cam, etc to run low 12s with these boats.

I admit I wish they could be lighter, but edmunds already showed the car running a 13 flat out on the street. I'd expect low 12's from bolt ons, sticky tires, and a well prepped track. I guess we'll just have to weight and see how they do.

Hey Mr. Gordon, the new Camaro is already putting together 13.0 s @ 111mph with magazine drivers. I highly expect those numbers to improve with some skilled owners!

p.s. yes it is still a bit too heavy for my liking.
