Any other Torsen owners doing one wheel burnouts at the track?
I have a 10-bolt Zexel-Torsen rear, and I take it the track quite a bit. Sometimes when doing a burnout only the passenger side tire will spin. Other times they both spin. I have had this happen on both ET streets and BFG Drag radials, even after backing into the waterbox and using linelock. Does anyone know the cause of this problem or how to fix it. I am not totally sure how the torsen works, but I know it isn't a clutch-type posi, right? Some of the F-body guys that I race with have the same problem.

I've been trying to think about what to do with the Torsen too. For right now, I've decided not to put any money into the rear. I'll just keep beating on it until something lets loose and hope I can afford to fix it then.

I just put in a Zexel-Torsen carrier this weekend. Swapped it into my '94 in place of the originial posi unit. I am hoping to cure the "one-legger burnout syndrome" that my original unit was starting to do on some runs.
It is a stronger unit than stock (Borg-Warner I think). So far it seems like I lucked out: I thought I may have to reset the freakin' back lash, but since I didn't touch the pinion, everything seems to be fine. I just transferred my ring gear and reluctor gear over to the new carrier and carefully re-installed it.
I got the Torsen from SLP. Great deal as it was a take-off ($112 shipped). However, I had to replace the carrier bearings. SLP evidently dropped the damn thing after taking it out and both bearings were scarred. No biggie. Still a good deal even with the addition of $30 for bearings and $25 charge to get them pressed on.
I am hoping it is not a "normal" thing for a healthy Torsen to do the "one-legger" act. If it is, I am **** out of luck and my whole project was a waste. Not wishing anything bad on you, Hugger, but I hope it is just a sign that yours is no longer healthy. If they all do that, I will be pissed.
Should know something Wednesday night when I go back to the track.

I just tried a new torsen from SLP to replace my torsen with 55000 miles on it. I went to the track yesterday still doing a one legger. I am definitely doing a 12 bolt with a spool over the winter. Tom

Mine has also been doing this lately. I think I'll end up buying an auburn or eaton posi eventually, but I'm still trying to save $$$ for a bar for toy #1....
