Torturing a 5.3L got ideas?
Like the title says, I'm going to be torturing a 5.3L. Ya know make it cry for mommy. So let me hear some ideas and remember I'm creative. I can junkyard build all sorts of stuff. This is all on the STOCK rods, pistons, crank.( if I kill it no biggie, gives the excuse for the 6.0L) Think I can get close to 500 RWHP before it blows?
Idea #1: 200 wet shot, different cam,LS1 intake,LS6 injectors and rails.
Idea #2: remote mount twin turbo kit, 15-20 psi.(tuned for E85)
Idea #3:??????
For heads/cam ideas let me know what you have in mind. The LS1 intake is just for the 5.3L. The F.A.S.T 102MM is later on down the road for the next motor.
Before anyone flames me, I'm getting the motor dirt cheap and don't really care if I kill it. the 5.3 is going in to complete the swap. Ultimate plans call for a forged 6.0L later on down the road.

im doing a 5.3 for a 200 wet shot right now....
with studded heads and arp rod bolts on a good tune a 200 shot should be fine...
if your gonna torture it do something like this
stud the heads
ARP rod bolts
big cam ?(something that likes nitrous) (like ms4)
ls1 intake with P&P TB
do a progressive wet 250 shot i bet you could pull of 600hp with ported stock heads or 243 heads

I give it a week to live if I pair up ideas #1 and #2!
Studs are already in the works for both motors. I just want to push the little 5.3 to its limits.I wonder if I could get my girl into the 10's on that 200 shot with a big cam and not caring about the motor?
For the spray it will be a progressive shot to preserve my drivetrain. If I kill my rear end then I'll cry!
For FI I'm thinking about a pair of T76's and make the boost higher up in the RPM range. When the boost comes on she'll pull like a freight train.
I'm mainly using the 5.3 as a test of sorts. Its the test bed for everything that will come on the 6.0. I.E the tuning, the boost, the spray.( 6.0L is getting boost and a 75 shot to help get the turbo's spinning quicker).

and if you go boost why not try out the new edelbrock intake? its supposed to be good for Fi and has long runners so you can do direct port higher up in the runner to get good atomization

5.3L's are going for between 275 and 600 from the junkyards. thats 2 tires on the low side.( or just one for me-315/35/17's)
I'm paying 300 for my 5.3L thats why i'm using it as a test bed for everything.
Once the swap is complete its only a day to R&R the motor.
I want to make sure everything is absolutely perfect for the 6.0 once it goes in. If I kill that one then I'll be upset and my other half will kill me! she's ok with me destroying a 300.00 motor but definitely not a forged one.

studded heads and ARP rod bolts
MS4 on 112lsa
progressive 250 shot maybe go 275 if you really want to push it
thats my vote cause like i said so many people have pushed the stock bottom ends as far as boost but no one really has pushed it as far as nitrous goes i wantto see what these things can handle as far as spray goes

I wouldn't buy any parts that I wanted to keep for the 6.0 because you're likely to grenade this thing and ruin any heads/cam/turbo upgrades you do. I'd do a 200 wet shot after upgrading all the bolts to ARP studs and see how long it holds up. I bet it would hold up fine for longer than you think.

Someone also stated to use 6,0 heads. How would that help if they are designed for a different bore size? Would it help? I am thinking it might lower compression and cause other issues. Just asking.
