Smile Noisy valvetrain, time to upgrade.

Nothing has been done to my engine so I figured I should. What do you guys think of this combo.

xr269hr-14 cam with supporting springs, pushrods.

Ls6 intake

Probably a new oil pump and timing chain as well.

I figure these two changes will compliment the full exhaust nicely. I'm looking for another 30hp or so. I am really pleased with the performance now but everyone wants a little more. I would like to keep the 2.73 gears.

Again, i'm not looking for 450hp cause I don't won't to blow up my tranny/rear, this is my 2.73 geared summer driver.

How about some GTP ported 241s with ls6 springs and stainless valves $800 shipped for the pair? i can get you set up with the ls6 pump as well and an ls2 or jwis chain, head gaskets, bolts, the whole number for a package price. I can also get you fixed up with the cam, pushords if you want them, and the ls6 intake.

Post specs of that camshaft.

By not even looking at the specs, I can see this thing may be a dog down low with a cam and those high gears in the back...especially with a stall convertor.

prob 216/220 525/532 114...but i might be a little off. seems like a reasonable guess

Not sure it would be worth the work for the small gain on that cam. Go with a 224 if you want a little cam, lots of happy people with it! It sounds like you have some modest goals, you could possibly get close with just the intake and a tune. If you do have the front cover off, silly not to change the pump and chain. They are not expensive.

Just stick with the cam and upgraded valve train.

As in keep the stock heads? That cam, an LS6 intake, and tune should make my car a solid 12 second DD right?

Yep there is a number of us with just cam's and Full exshaust and LS6 intakes that still have stock heads that run 12''s and if you cant get to the high 12's a full nitrous kit shipped is $422 from harris speed to your door. That imo is the best mod. Cheap and effective!
