Default STS oil seal problem

I ran my STS for a year with 40-70 pounds of oil preasure, well of course the oil started to force past the seals. Are the seals popped out, or just junk? What is the base turbo for the STS? Where can I get a rebuild kit? Thanks

To answer your questing, your turbo is fine, but your scavenger pump is an issue. Fix that and your back on the road...

If you have excessive crank case pressure, via to much blow by, it can make it harder for the oil pump to do it's job.

Ok, first of all there are no real SEALS in the turbo. Replace your scavenge pump with a Mocal or Exa Pump or something equivalent.

that STS scavenge pump is not nice. I just did the Exa Pump

PM me if ya have any more questions, use rear mount guys like to stick together. Everyone else is right also, replace your scavenge pump and you will be on your way

First make sure it isn't something simple like a bad check valve.

+1 on the check valve. I had one go bad on my truck and it will dump a ton of oil in your charge pipe on start up.

It is at the end of the oil feed line right? I remember it just has enough tension to hold back the oil when you shut off the car, right? Thanks again guys! This is great news!

so ZL1 did you add a restrictor or just change the pump?
you guys have me wondering if I was just getting oil in the pipes due to the car sitting for long periods of time (oil past checkvalve) and perhaps a pump starting to loose it's gusto.

The check valve is at the end of feed line and it keeps the oil from pooling in the turbo when the motor is off.

I put a reverso pump on my truck and I run it on high all of the time. The reverso pump is only about $180 and it's a lot quieter than the STS pump.

thats the plan. Cept running a shurflo pump. im gonna put a pad of dynomat before i mount the pump..then bolt the pump down over the dynomat to dampen the sound. Then removing sts restrictor, and hobbs switches.

Rather than the dynomat, you may consider isolators:

They keep the vibrations away from the body and allow cooling air to the pump. Just a suggestion.

I can't hear my Reverso pump on high unless I'm laying under the truck when it's running. I don't understand how it is so much quieter than the STS one but it is quieter than my Walbro 255 fuel pumps.

Nice! Where can I buy a set of those! I have mine mounted to the frame, but It still makes a ton of vibration and noise...

They should sell something similar at any hardware store.
