Cool Keeping a black car clean in texas!! RULES:

Keeping a black car clean in texas:

A: invest in many california dusters and constantly brush and talk to the car, tell it how ur day went,

B: once a week claybar and wax to a slick finish, so slick that when mosquitos go and land on it they slip and break their necks.

C: have an ccount at the carwash (preferable a work account ) so that u can have it washed twice a week......yes i said twice.

D: be constantly on the move , never let dust settle too much!!

E: Must i mean absolute MUST park it in garage at night. or else youll get water marks all over everything

these are the rules i live by......

I gave up trying to wash my truck. I pay to have it done now. Black is a bish to keep clean and my truck is too damn big to be washing by hand every week.

Hell no! ^^ Black sucks man. I regret it.

Now at night when it's clean I think it's one of the best colors out there. But If I paint mine it's going to be white ha..

And it's true I wash my car twice a week lol, sometimes even 3. And I always carry a duster with me.

I own a black vette.. it's not parked in a garage.

I wash it more than twice a week, and even use a stormgaurd cover.

Invest in a porter cable polisher.

i only wash my car once a few months, but i never drive it, and yes, i wipe it down a lot because of dust, you can see it everywhere, right after you wash it, the car is dirty again and needs to be washed.

but we can all agree that black is THE SEXIEST color when cleaned up.

I told myself I'd never own another black vehicle after getting rid of my 2000 Tahoe in 06. Less than 2-1/2 years later I bought a damn black Dodge Mega Cab. Black vehicles are hard to resest because they look so dang good when they're clean.

Or you just like the punishment it takes to keep it clean.

I agree. Black is the sexiest color when clean... Keeping it clean is just a PITA.

My rules are

1 Never wash it when the car/trk is hot.

2 Must wash in the shade. Evening time is best.

3 Wash top to bottom and front to back.

4 Keep rinsing the entire vehicle as you wash. Do NOT let it dry at any ponit.

5 wash the wheels.

6 call for the wife to get two absorbers from the garage and ask her to help you dry it fast.

7 After it is dry drive around the block to sling out the water from the cracks and touch it up with the absorber.

8 Repeat this process weekly/every other week like we do.

9 And this is the final result.

I have a 2007 black f-250 4 door and son of a bitch is it hard to keep clean. As ross said it is just to damn big to wash every week by hand, so I usually just take it and have it cleaned also. I do know that it is by far the best looking color besides som there is though!

I just can't bring my self to let some one else wash my ride. They will never do it good enough for me so I do it my self. I forgot to mention after the final wipe you must hit the door jams.

Id avoid taking it to a car wash place, most will put tons of swirl marks on the paint
