Question what trans for H/C/I car?? mm6 or mn12?

like the title says....

rite now i have the MN12 and have gone as fast as 127.85 w/ 4.10s and a
26" tire

should i stay w/ the mn12 and get it built or should i go back to the fbody/viper ratios and get it built

i will be doing a face plated trans

car will be low 10s when im h/c

if i go back to the fbody ratios then ill have to go w/ 4.56s

thanks
brandon

The MM6 ratios should give you a better ET from the closer ratio. What weight car are you running? (What type of car for that matter?) Do you cross the line in 4th gear, or do you have to shift to 5th?

Brandon,
stop trying to copy me

Yes, I would go to an M6 [F-body ratio's] and a 4.56 gear. it seems to be a proven combo... clearly...

I envy you. Joey at Tick is my buddy... I was talking to him today about the T56 and he was telling me about this type of build that they do... it sounds awesome...

OP - is the 4th gear the same (1:1) in both? Sorry for the n00b question.

If it was me, I wouldn't get hung up on the small details, i.e. ratio of 1-3.

I agree that a 28" tire and a 4.56 seems to be the setup for a M6 looking for all out 1/4 mile.

However, I'm running a 4.30 and a 26" tire for now... I didn't want to grind my caliper, so I went with a 16" wheel and a 26x11.50x16 M&H Racemaster...

By the way, if you're not running the M&H you need to start now. They make THE tire for our M6 cars man... hands down.

Good luck man.
