Block of course is a 6.0 iron Good choice
sts kit with gt67 for now but will go to a probably gts76 Way too small for a 408, 80mm min
will be somewhat of a DD but soon to be a garage queen/weekend car
looking for around 600-700 rwhp Don't bother with a 408 for this power level, 346-370 works great
M6
was thinking callies magnum crank stock is good unless you are determined to spend money
arp everything
callies rods
diamond pistions
dm racing engine girdle Complete and utter waste of money for your build
cam????? z06 if you don't do a stroker
heads???? stock 317s work fine
valvetrain???? stock with good valvesprings
Any input of reccomended experience will be highly appreciated!

You going custom on your rear mount or STS? If custom I'd suggest running a quick spool valve like I do (takes some basic fab to get it installed).

Ive read good things about the engine girdle but I was thinking it may e overkill for what im looking for.
Also recently read a thread tht a oe crank was holding on at around 1200-1500 so that was gonna be a possible second choice.
hmm havent read too much into quick spool valves... could you enlighten me any more Zombie?
Also I know they're out there but haven't found them yet, any spec./cheat sheets for ls1 and 6.0l oe parts and specs. I know i'll run into issues like crank reluctors and such.
Cheap is better but reliability is priority. Just have the block now but will begin looking for remaining components shortly like oil pan, valley covers, etc. Pretty much from scratch!

I have a 2006 gto with a 408 stroker, sts kit w/ tc76, afr heads, and 100% meth. My goals were similar to yours but grew before build was complete. I am looking for 900rwhp spinning the **** out of my turbo. I have also been wanting to use the quik spool valve.

Zombie, Could you show us some pics of your set-up with the quick spool valve. Its sounds like the way to go. Im planning a rear mount on the camaro and going with a 370 with a tc78(would a pt88 be to big or just about right with the quik-spool valve?)

Idont think a standard bearing 88 would work very well even with a quick spool valve. I tried an 88 on zombies car with no valve, and it was bad. A ball bearing turbo though......would probably be fine. My bb 101 would prob spool better then a standard bearing 88, or atleast comparable.
For big hp rearmounts, an sx 80 (87 i think) with a divided housing or something very similar is about as big as I can see being real nice. Ofcourse if your willing to spin your motor higher, spend the money on better heads, have a higher stall....then a bigger turbo would work.
Cost difference in the builds, id 1500+ more for heads, 400$ more for valve train stuff over a oem zo6 cam, and less drivability with the bigger stall. The stall could be offset with less weight but that too may result in less drivabilty depending on opinion.
An sx80 and 370 gets you to 10.0's or better anywhere in the country in a heavy *** loaded street car. So if high 9's are ok with you, dont bother with more.
