What vehicle?
Generally if it had a 4L60 or a 4L60E with a VSS you should be able to plug it right back in. If the plug doesn't work splice the correct on one.

You need to use the original sensor and reluctor wheel. (or ones just like them)

The sensor is one bolt, and it's out. The reluctor wheel, good luck removing and reinstalling it without the proper tools. If both transmissions are out maybe swing by a trans shop with them in the bed of a truck ready for the swap.

Thats why I say take it to a trans shop.
I don't know what the **** a duster cover is, probably governor cover.

Now...Why would you disassemble THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION just to swap an output shaft because of the speedo gear/VSS wheel?

You can take the plastic gear off and throw it in the trash, you need to replace it with a metal VSS reluctor wheel. You need special tools to remove one. You might get by using a metal pipe to tap one back in place.

Thats why I said before you need to reuse yours, or another one. If you can find one laying around a trans shop, you can tap it on yourself.

If you want to try and reuse yours, you can use a bearing puller (not a jaw type puller, a bearing puller) and some long allthread rod to remove it.

Tearing the whole trans down to change the output shaft is not the way to swap a VSS reluctor.

Just wondering, how are you going to connect the TV cable to the throttle body?

Well it sounds like you're on the right track. In fact it doesn't even sound like you need help here, you got it.

The plug that went to your old VSS
Not really sure why exactly you're asking such a simple question.
If the plug is different just cut it off and splice the right plug on.

You mean the square connector up on the drivers side above the pan rail?
Thats for the TCC.

There are too many wiring configurations to explain that not knowing what you have.
I used to always rewire them to operate the TCC solenoid off a factory pressure switch so it automatically locked up in 4th.
I also always wired them to a three position toggle switch so it could be switched for automatic lock up, manual lock up, no lock up.

You can also buy these parts in kit form.

And you can always just drop the pan and wire the TCC solenoid direct to the plug so you can just connect it to a manual switch by sending 12 volts to it.

And there are also TCC solenoids that are grounded that operate by applying 12 volts. Some have two wires and 12 volts going straight to it and are controlled by the ground side.

You'll need to get some pics up if you want to get into all that.
Or a detailed description of what you have as far as pressure switches, etc and you can rework the stock wiring.

Theres a very small chance it might be factory wired to automatically lock in 4th, you need to drop the pan and see. Then supply 12 volts to the right pin.

Yes, pics of the valve body and where each wire terminates.
