What have you done so far? If nothing, then I would say start out with the free mods, then a cold air induction, headers, and exhaust. That way you have a head start on the le setup.

Default more power

I do have the cold air now no headers yet. is it ok to go with a set of shorty headers instead of long tube. what exhaust is a good one to start with

Don't go shorties, you'll see hardly no hp gain. That's just my opinion but If you are going with the le setup later on you def. need long tubes. Or at the very least mid-tubes, if you have emissions. I got pacesetters, they seem to be the best bang for the buck.

yeah dont bother with shorties. at least mid's but def long tubes. i went with mids for the ease of installation. theirs alot you can do before needing LE2 heads.. cam/stall/gears for example

gears was a good upgrade for me.... that along with a tune and a stall converter if you got the cash.... but going from 2.73s to 3.73s made a very noticible seat dyno difference lol....

and def. go with longtubes if you dont have to worry about emissions.... you can pick up painted pacesetters and a y pipe from texas speed for like $360 or something like that and coated for not too much more...

do all your free mods they add up, go with longtubes like everyone said, get some good plugs and wires, for small mods that make a diffrence and are not to dificult. look into some 1.6 rockers.

you can cam before upgrading the valvetrain? i was going to cam my car but then after needing new springs and rockers for the cam it made sense just to do it at the same time as the le2

Minumum you will need to upgrade springs if you change the cam. also recommended are pushrods depending on year(Some LTx's came with hardened pushrods) and lifters are recommended. obviously you will see more gains if you upgrade the rockers as well to a 1.6 RR.
