I have the chrome insert in my 02 SS's hood scoop, thing is people are asking me where I got it so I tell them Afterthoughts.. but the item seems to have dissapeared from their website.

Does anyone know who else carries them?

I need one of these too. I checked with Afterthoughts and got a response email saying they would let me know if they had any more coming in the future.

They got complaints and stopped carrying them. They are considering carrying them again due to received requests.

People have way to high of expectations for the chroming. It is a textured plastic part that really can't be polished smooth, so the chroming will have a slight textured look as well. Personally that doesn't bother me at all, it still looks great.

I have my original one done as a GP for SSOA members way back when. I also have one from afterthoughts.

If I remember correctly, they stopped carrying them due to quality control and supply issues.

when I talked to the lady at afterthoughts back in May, I can't rem her name, I asked her that question, she said that they can't cut it so the holes on the grille will be the same, if they do decide on doing it, the holes would be considerably bigger than they are with the OEM piece, and yea, it would be really expensive

Well MBA makes on for the hood scoops on the pre 97 cars so the 98 and up would be pretty easy IMHO...

Would be nice to see someone come out with a true chrome or polished billet replacement.

I just got mine and my bros done. There is a company that does them. They also do alot of other types of things like on ramair hood inserts and cobra's so such forth.
