Yeah. I know. In the Z28, there wasn't even a window motor in the door! lol. I just placed it in there and used the screws that came with it. I still wouldn't mind paying someone a few bucks to do it.

I think private mechanic/buddy would be a bit cheaper.

I had my window motor go out when I didn't have a drill. Took everything apart and showed up at the local Pontiac dealership. Told them if I bought the window motor there and they just swapped the motor (explaining that everything else was already out of the way for their Tech) and charged me 1/2 hr of labor, I'd let them do it. They did not have to put anything else back together, just swap motors. They actually agreed to it.

Well, last time I did it, I didn't have to drill out the stock rivets because the window motor wasn't even there. I used the screws that came with the new window motor, but every so often I'd have to tighten them up again.

Did you use the screws or new rivets?

Ah. Lock washers would be great. Does autozone have them? I don't remember having to support the glass when I put the window motor in the old LT1 Z28 either.

My screws and washers came with the window motor, but im sure you can find them at any auto parts store... or lowes... home depot
I put a clamp on the window while I was working on it... I don't know if i needed to or not.. I did it just to be safe.
