500+ hp motor plus 200shot what kind of fuel set up do i need
Ive got a 12.8-1 383 pushing 500+hp and i want to put a 200shot on it. I have all stock fuel system in the car otherthan the 255pump. I was told i can run a Stand Alone System but my issue i have right now is Money. So if i can figure out away to keep this entire fuel system under $600 that would be ****.
another thing would be i just install a 2nd wahlbro pump if thats the case i only see right ups on 98+ cars i have a 97 t.a so how can i do that. and will i still need the bucket in my gas tank for the pump cuz i was told i need the bucket. if this does work just by using the twin pump how much power is it capable of?

if you gonna feed your fuel solenoid from the fuel rails , you should provide more fuel to the fuel rails to not coming lean when the fuel solenoid is opened and start to deliver fuel .
255 walbro will pump enough fuel to your fuel rails feeding your enjectors and your fuel solenoid .
IMO you should have no problem hitting 200hp on stock fuel rails and 255 walbro fuel pump .
hope that helped
good luck buddy

Why not add another pump in the tank, running 2, wire up the hot kit to both, and have the second set up on a relay to come on when you hit the nitrous, then you could go even higher than 200, if you wanted to.
A stand alone is more hastle than you might think, having to check this and that all the time, you need another regulator to regulate pressure. A pump up front to pump fuel. Easily gets you above your budget that you mentioned. Check out the sticky at the top of the fuel section, for great info on a dual in tank for cheap.

Dedicate it.
Im with Z28rob. I think the limits of the fuel system you have even with the 255 hotwire will be passed. You have spent this much money for the 383, might as well spend a little more to save it.

but were you maykin over 650hp? the pump is said to handle up to 650hp. so you can probably spray as much as you want with the one pump as long as your under that. im sure that the 255 could possibly handle his needs but its only a possibility and its not a sure thing lik a second pump or dedicated would be

+100 i was making less than 600 hp and didnt have enough fuel on the hit it would catch back up within a 1000-1500rpms but still didnt like that . Its not the hp rating of the pump its the volume when the shot hits it will suck the rails dry causing a bad lean spike which i didnt like and from what i seen it gives a false hp reading with that spike. we wouldnt have this problem if chevy did a return type fuel system with the regulator at the rails. The only way i see doing it with the 255 and stock stuff without a stand alone and not get a lean spike is progress the shot . It is so much easier on your intake pump to run a stand alone with some q16
