Default Who's running 25+psi?

Just wondering. My F2 made 26psi and I'm trying to decide if I should get a smaller pulley for the crank to reduce boost a little. For those of you that are running boost this high, has it caused any problems? Did you run into any issues that you would never have at under 20psi? How much does this much boost reduce engine life? Let's hear what you guys have experienced with higher than average boost levels.

I have...been having some ignition issues, but I don't think its boost related...

also note this is with stock 6.0 castings

We feel it is on the high side, but maybe we are just looking at safe for a street car.

see you soon

Yeah, I'm not trying to push my luck. I thought with the 402 I would need a bigger blower but I guess I didn't need to go this big lol.
Tonight all I want is to just make sure the tune is good and make sure it's making power like it should, hopefully it won't be raining too bad. But then after tonight, I'll take it easy on the car and most likely put a smaller crank pulley on until I at least have a better fuel system and some nice 6 bolt heads. I might even look into doing a wastegate set-up where I could control the boost like with a turbo. I've read about a couple guys doing it with prochargers on here and it sounds like it might work pretty good for a set-up like mine. Not sure yet.

By the way my oil looked great for my first oil change so that's always a good sign. I was thinking at 26psi I might be pushing water with the standard 4 bolt heads but I didn't find any signs that it was. The super low compression is probably helping with that. I guess we just need to see how it does tonight and go from there.

To be honest, I don't know. I let my tuner handle that stuff.

Being that it's a centri blower boost isn't at 26psi the whole time maybe that's helping you not push water??? If you do the wastegate setup it might be harder on it at the same boost level because you would be at a higher boost level for more of the rpm range. I'm not an expert, just sharing some thoughts I had.

Not too sure but it gets to about 20psi as soon as you go wot, then it creeps to 26. If I did the waste gate, it would see the same boost until it got to say 20psi and then would bleed the rest off and stay at 20 so it would actually see less boost. I don't want to do that though because procharger says they are not meant for that and spinning them faster without the added pressure can damage the blower or something like that.
I think it's not pushing water cause it was on the dyno, it might push some when/if I take it to the track. I'm still deciding if I'm going to try a couple 1/8th passes or just wait till I can afford better heads and a better converter.

i think its ok, run a nice alky kit, that comes on at 15psi or so, youll get the octane to be safe and just leave the boost up thier.

F2 + 26 psi + 402 + auto trans = pretty wild. Should be fun.

Keep in mind I went 9.40@144 with a YSI + 17/18 psi + 348 + auto trans.

I'm thinking you should go 8.4's.

here's what i think you'll be facing :

- a permanent grin inplanted on your face
- a new underware wardrobe to replace the old ones you soiled
- your insurance rates going up after doing a burnout from one offramp to another and not being able to explain it tot he judge
- the countless insults from people you scared on the highway after you stomp on it
- becoming the number two fossil fuel consumer after china

these are some of the issues i fore see in your near future

No alky for me, just 110 or better at all times

Good god, that would be flyin. I hope your right. I'm still working out a couple issues though. It only put down 800rwhp but that is through a th400 with a super loose converter. I would have thought with 26psi it still would have been in the 900s and then thinking 8s. The way it is right now, I'm thinking only 9s. It's eating enough gas for 1200hp though, we're thinking the converters at fault. I'm not even going to race it until I have some of the issues resolved, no point in risking it.

Block was done by Midwest Engine Tech.
Heads are untouched stock 317s
