I have one with the Patriot LS6 style heads. I love the cam, it doesn't surge or buck and fart while cruising around. Hits a mean *** lick, and pulls really good thru the entire RPM range. I can't think of anything that I don't like about it. It's one of the best "big" cams out there right now.. IMHO.

Another satisfied user here.
I purchased this cam with Stage II heads and True Duals X-Pipe in mind as future upgrades.
It's kinda restricted on my setup as is, but it still performs great considering it's choked down.

The timing events would vary enough where P/V would be a concern.
A tick more compression would help...
If the heads had under 70% E/I ratio it would work...
Take 2 degrees off the exhaust and it seems a little better...
Just one guy's opinion...

Ok when having two cams with the same specs other than lsa what does the tighter lsa do? I know it creates more overlap and makes the poweband peakier, but does it create more torque, or just move the peak power down?

Actually there is more to that "scenerio" than just two identical lobes at different timing events. It all depends on the package.
By knowing the entire intake tract (or overall intake port) volume and its relationship to all the important flow numbers, coupling that data with the low lift flow figures of the head's exhaust runner, will have a major effect on where to place the exhaust lobe's opening and closing events. This all figured out, is what is really "creating" the lobe separation.
Keep in mind, lobe separation is the RESULT of the timing events required to get the max out of a specific combination. Some cams will work with certain combos whereas the same unit fails miserably. It's not the cam, (or should I say the cam designer) just its mis-application.
Sounds like a riddle but suffice to say, lobe separation is not really important if you are basing a cam design strictly by that parameter. Timing events are the real key!

I have it and I really like it. It defintally bucks at low rpm's but I can deal with it. I'm hopeing to hit 11.50's with it next year with some skinnies and a better 60 ft.

I had one in my car and loved it. It pulled great throughout the rev range, but was really stout up top. Mine made 420rwhp through a 9'' with 4.30 gears with a set of JPR S1 LS6 heads, and ran some 11.60s with some pathetic 60's.
Great all around cam for sure.

I love it
I get a little bucking in the low rpm's that I'm gonna attempt to tune out but other than that . . . handles, idles, and behaves like stock
The lope at an idle speed of 850 is meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeean

Will it work well with 200shot nitrous, stock heads, and an
A U T O....
I would like the wider lsa for more cyl pressure and the N2O would too I imagine, but the 112 might sound a little nicer, and whats the trade off really?

This is kind of OT but I plan on getting TSP's Patriot stg. 2 w/ cam package but I don't think I want the 231/237, might be too aggressive for my application. My car will have to be a daily driver, that means rain and perhaps snow, w/ snow tires. What would be my best option, I was kind of thinking TSP Custom 224R Cam: 224/224, .581"/.581", 112 LSA. What do you guys think? Any advice is appreciated.
