knowing that the 4L60E are suspect why would u put a cheap converter in it?
DO NOT GO CHEAP ON A TRANNY or CONVERTER!! go with circle D, yank or vigilante. theres a reason why people run them.
if u throw in a cheap converter, in a month youll be asking whats wrong with your tranny.

Those both look like 4 or 6 cylinder converters that they have welded an adapter plate onto. On the first one, look at the smaller pic that has 4 pics in it. You can see the adapter plate in the bottom two pics. The large pic is not a complete converter, which leads me to believe they are trying to hoodwink you.
It's your car, and your money. But I would expect to pay ~$400 for a budget converter that may stay together and not take down my transmission when it went.

hey man its james frm akron with the silver m6 TA...if you're looking for a cheap stall id check the used classifieds, theres a few for decent prices on there. I'm picking up a 99 a4 TA on friday (b/c of my broken shoulder...cant drive my silver one for at least a month). I'm probably going to go with a ss3600 or a vig3600

Hey man whats up, its jason that has the red gto, I have meet you a few times down at quaker steak. Iam in the same boat as you and dont want to speed 700 bucks on a converter but unfortunatly that is what you need to do. Listen to everyone else above and DO NOT BUY A CHEAP CONVERTER, Iam getting ready to make my purchase and Iam looking at yank, circle d, fti. Leaning towards fti. I would suggest calling the gentlemen above about the yank. Has your tranny ben freshly rebuilt? If not I would reccomend janis transmission in akron. The 4l60 is very weak in stock form, Mine when out 3 times before I found someone that could build it right, and a friend of mine went through 5 of them.
