Default Just pulled the trigger on a engine for my swap

Well... could not pass on this deal.

I was giong to go LS1 in my 87 RX-7 -but now it's going to be an LS2
can anyone link me to a throttle body cable setup for the LS2? I need to run a TB that is not DBW.

05 GTO
LS2
1,900 miles on the engine, never raced, only street cruising. Owner is swapping in a LS3 stroker.

Yeah I'm getting this as a longblock + a few extras, intake mani, stock exhaust mani, clutch/flywheel and some other goodies. I was originally looking at complete LS2 pull outs but the price was simply too high to take on all at once. Now that I can split up the cost over a few months it's much more manageable....

I still have a long way to go -but this is a HUGE step in the process!

here is some background on the car/project:

I've had this project on my mind for about 2 years now and it is now finally coming together. I'm preparing to swap my 87 RX-7 with 70,000 original miles. Here is a little background on the project...

This is going to remain a full interior street/track car.

The car is in excellent condition, I searched for about a year before it came along, found it out in a small town in PA (I''m in NJ)

looked like this when I bought it:

Not too much to look at -but the price was right and it was unmolested.

To not make this post excessively long I'll give the short version, this is how she sits now:

Brakes and hubs swapped to TII parts (5lug 4 piston calipers)
Stance AL+pro Coilovers 16 way dampening and aluminum body
Enkei NTO3+M
Front: 17X8 +35 w/ Falken RT615 tires(225-45-17)
Rear: 18X9.5 +27 w/ 60% tread on tires (255/4018)
Custom Magnaflow exhaust
OS Giken 1.5 way diff in a TII rear

and some other basics, seat steering wheel, gauges ect...

sumped tank:

Original plans were to do a LS1 swap -but I stumbled onto a good deal on a LS2 from an 05 GTO and could not say no... 1900 miles on it. I bought the longblock plus a few extras.

I have most of the swap parts already and will get things moving at the end of this season... Miro is going to help me out on everything and he does not even know it yet

Thanks for reading, I'll document my progress... and start a proper build thread when I start the teardown

Wow, you're bringing back memories for me. I had this same car in the same trim in the same color same interior! 4x114 bolt pattern (rare), bare bones (no power anything)... great find. If it had painted moldings I would have guessed you bought mine. Still love the FCs.

Good luck!
