Get LS6 heads, keep the stock valves, have them done over, then get a custom specd cam to make it a matched set.

It depends on what your goin for...IMO, A set of factory cast heads are a cheap way out. Save up and get some good heads like AFR or Trickflow. BUT, if I had to choose between the two, I would pick the LS6 heads.

why would you not go with that cam? have you heard bad things? or it would be better to just go with a custom matched cam?

just havnt seen a lot of awesome things out of it.. bit small for my taste.. but thats preference.. not necessarily bad things or good things.. just neutral.

it is always better to go with a custom grind.. as long as your talking to a knowledgeable person.

thing is.. i like the ls6 heads better.. your going with a cam that has high tq... therefore if it were me i would focus everything on tq... that cam im going to assume loves mid range.. therefore right after the 60 foot mark is where its going to come alive, then die off near the end of the track..
if that cam has to be the one.. i would go ls6s 5.3s 3500 stall (but i think your an m6 so X that) 410s etc etc etc.. take a little weight out..

if your going off the shelf... and you want to go with ls6 heads (my personal choice for heads on a budget).. i would go with a bit larger cam.. something like an ms3, torqer, etc... they like to breath a bit more.. which means you would want to upgrade to a minimum of a 90/90, but they are getting very cheap nowadays used..

just depends on what your wanting.

either buy a set of 243 and leave them alone or.... go buy TSP stg 1 LS6 heads... cost you more to have the stock 243 ported milled then if you bought TSP's imo.
