Solid MM regrets? Does anyone who has solid motor mounts regret getting them. Too much vibrations?
I am trying to decide between solid and poly mounts. The only reason i would go solid is because of the fact that they're easier to install. I am puttin in poly tranny mounts as well. Also I've heard that solids raise the motor higher in the engine bay? Is this true? Any input is greatly appreciated!

I've had my Spohn solids on for about a year and half and so far I am happy with them. You can't really go wrong with either one. I think the install is pretty much the same for both, the only difference is you'll have to drill out the stock mounts for the poly's.

I thought I remember reading that you should not run aftermarket motor mounts without a poly trans mount. I think it had something to do with the trans and motor not moving together causing stress on various parts.

I've had my spohn solids for a while now with the poly tran mount, but I have an adj. torque arm with a relocation crossmember. So far no complaints for me. Install is pretty much the same for both, except for drilling out the rivets on your stockers to put the poly pieces in the stock location.

My car does vibrate a little bit off idle but I have the same setup with a rubber trans mount. When I had the poly trans mount, it caused much more vibration than the solid motor mounts. No regrets here.

I haven't checked in awhile but I think the Spohn k-member is the only one that allows you to run a solid motor mount.

im just going off of common sense, but im willing to bet the stock motor mounts with a poly trans mount is a no-no because the trans mount is just meant to take the force of the engine/trans pitching, not rotating. as in its designed for compression and tension. but if you have stock rubber mm's with a stiff poly tm, the tm is gonna be trying the take up the rotating force putting a side load on the mount (which its not disigned for). also im sure it puts a hell of alot more force on the tail housing of the tranny which already takes too much abuse from the tq arm imho.

solid mounts in the car in my sig. A box or so of sound deadener on the floors and doors. vibrations aren't unbearable. gets the power to the ground more effectively IMO.

I really like my solids. Like someone else before said, there is a little vibration coming off idle, but nothing crazy. I also have a poly tranny mount. They've been on for about 6 months or so now.

I've got solids and love them. I've also convinced friends who have rode in the car that they are fine for a street DD. Vibes are almost none existent. I did have a poly trans mount in there when I put the MM's in becuase the stocker was ripped in two. Now with the solid MM's and a stock trans mount there is only a slight viberation just off idle or when the car is cold and on high idle. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat and they are on sale right now at speed engineering.

It does make it more difficult but nothing too hard. I loosened the k-member bolts to help give me a little more room.
