108 LSA that would be 17* overlap = major lope

Overlap is {(intake duration + Exhaust duration)/2} - 2x LSA

Sounds like it would be a healthy cam for a 5.7L. The duration specs on the exhaust lobe, along with the overlap is what primarily gives you the lope/choppy idle characteristics. Post a video and or a sound bit of it when you are done with the install and get her tuned...

Nasty 2000:

Wow, choppy? Man with 17* of overlap, it will be past choppy..it will sound more like a Nascar starting up...

Kidding a little, but I am running 10* degrees of overlap, and it will get your attention. I did not pick the cam for sound, but it is nice.

I am curious what kind of exhaust system you have. With that cam split 227/239, seems like you are going to have to really 'breathe' that cam at mid and high rpm's to really take advantage of the additional overlap and available torque.

I always admire one who breaks the mold, so one more question. On the 108 LSA, any advance or are you installing it straight up?

I would really be curious to see that HP/TQ curve.

I have done a lot of tuning to handle the inevitable cam reversion that occurs at lower RPM's with higher overlaps cams. Believe me, below 1600-2000 rpm's my VE % are in the low 30's. I spent some time getting rid of the 'bucking' that can occur.

Again, let us know how it works out.

Good luck..

Should be sweet!

Wish I could get away with that setup out here, but Colorado is tightening up on their emissions and noise abatement laws. I am lucky to currently live just outside of the testing zone.

Have fun. Sounds like you have done your homework.

Enjoy, and let us know your final results.

Sounds more like a chop than a lope to me.
